About

Project Apollo started off in July 2008 as a server called Vice City Role-Play on the modification for Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Vice City Multiplayer (VC:MP). The server was created by Juppi and Mattz who were experienced scripters. The name of the server was soon changed to Miami-Dade: Role Play. The development of MDRP took longer than expected and Juppi and Mattz decided to set up a racing server first.

This racing server, which still exists till now, is called Miami-Dade: Racing (MDR). The racing server, which became public in November 2008, was the most sophisticated server VC:MP had ever seen pushing the functionalities of the mIRC scripting language to its limits. The server soon acquired “official” status and became a standard for all other servers in VC:MP. In August 2009, version 2 of the script was created using the Squirrel scripting language featuring vast improvements to the game mode, testing the limits of Vice City Multiplayer itself.

In August 2008, Juppi and Mattz, together with Windlord decided to expand Miami-Dade into something we now call “Project Apollo”. The name “Project Apollo” was chosen to represent ourselves as a pioneering group, managing various game servers across multiple multiplayer modifications. Soon after setting up Project Apollo, Miami-Dade acquired a server called “DriversDream TDM” which was renamed to “Miami-Dade: Madness”. Miami-Dade and Project Apollo continued to gain respect as time went on for its high quality servers and administration staff.

Miami-Dade: Madness (MDM), the second server made available to the public by Project Apollo was a casual mini-modes server created in April 2009, featuring numerous mini-games and mini-missions. This server also quickly acquired “official” status becoming known widely for its engaging features. The script for MDM went through several revisions changing in major ways throughout the year until it was re-written in the Squirrel scripting language in late-2009.

By the end of 2009, Project Apollo and its VC:MP wing, Miami-Dade had been well received into the VC:MP community as a set of quality servers. As of now, Miami-Dade: Roleplay is still under development, having been re-scripted using the Squirrel scripting language.

Project Apollo's most recent bold move was to move into San Andreas Multiplayer (SA:MP). SA:MP Rumble, a casual RPG server was a server on which most of the Project Apollo team played on regularly and the handover was made after the original owner, ozzie became occupied with work. Since the changeover the script has been heavily modified with various new features being added as we speak, the server has also been renamed to Project Apollo: Freeroam.

Project Apollo is currently busy preparing new servers for the newly released Grand Theft Auto 3 modification, Liberty Unleashed (LU). Although it may be seen that we have achieved lift-off early on with 2 very successful servers, Project Apollo continues to strive to be the best, bringing the most enjoyable gaming experience to you.
